Paua shell is so beautiful as it shines in the light reflecting blues, greens, purples.  I would think this lovely vintage brooch is from New Zealand. Paua Shell brooches have often been brought back as souveniers over the past 60 - 70 years. It is a round disc measuring almost 4cms across, set in silver tone metal with etched silver tone holding clips. A firm workable C shaped clip to the back. There is also the addition of a safety chain. All indicating a brooch from at least the 1960's period. In very good condition, gift boxed by Vintageonline.
